Hace mucho tiempo que no releía esta novela. Cuando la compré en 1988 (no recuerdo porqué o quién me la recomendó) me impresionó fuertemente. Y no es para menos.

Desde el punto de vista narrativo, cabe señalar el traslado de las técnicas cinematográficas al relato, lo que le da una fuerza propia, te sumerge en el vértigo de la acción, que es lo que busca el autor, naturalmente. Esta historia no puede contarse despacio, ya que los personajes están inmersos en una espiral que no deja de acelerarse y en ciertos momento parece como si fuera capaz de capturar al lector y arrastrarlo.

La trama, aparente y calculadamente incoherente del principio, va ofreciendo un cuadro que, como intuyes, no puede ir a mejor. "Desaparezca aquí" es la frase clave en mi lectura, la subrayé en amarillo en mi segunda lectura, allá por los noventa. No apta para estómagos delicados, de forma que si no queréis asomaros al lado más oscuro del alma humana, ni la empecéis. Las consecuencias del nihilismo en estado puro, eso encontraréis.

Desde luego, para mí, un libro que estuvo presente en la fase final de mi juventud y el comienzo de la madurez. Me dió que pensar sobre qué quería y qué no quería para mí y los míos.

Recuerdo que la novela tuvo una adaptación al cine. Ni os molestéis en verla. Hollywood no podía retratarse tal cual era y en qué había convertido a los suyos. Si las escenas de la novela se hubieran pasado a la película, la hubieran clasificado XXX.

I hadn´t read this novel since long ago. When I bought it 1988 (I can´t remember why or who did suggest it to me) I was strongly impressed. And not for nothing.

From the narrative point of view it succeeds to transfer the movie making techniques in the story, so it gets a real strenght, and it immerses you in the action spin, as the author wants, obviously. This story can not be quietly be recounted, since its characters are involved in a spiral that doesn´t stop for a single moment and at certain times you feel like it could catch the reader and drag him.

The frame, apparently and cleverly incoherent at the beginning, moves uncovering a painting, that you feel, it can´t improve. "Disappear here" is the key phrase in my reading, I underwrote in yellow in my second reading, in the nineties. Not suitable for delicate bellies, so if you do not want to look at human soul´s dark side, do not even start reading it. The consequences of nihilism in a pure state, that you´ll find.

For sure, that´s a book really present in the final stage of my youth. It gave me a lot to think about what I wanted (or not) for me and my people.

I recall that the novel had a film adaptation. Don´t bother watching it. Hollywood could not show it self in dire straits or show what had done of their children. If the scenes of the novel had been played in the film, it would have been XXX classified.
